Syphax Strategic Solutions, founded by President and Chief Executive Officer Scott Syphax, is a Sacramento-based management consulting company that provides Board Governance, Strategic Planning, and Advisory Services to CEOs, Boards of Directors, and Senior Management teams at leading public and private companies and organizations nationally. Mr. Syphax is a recognized and award-winning business leader, entrepreneur, consultant, television host and strategist, and was most recently named one of North America’s Top 100 Corporate Directors. About Scott Syphax
Scott Syphax is a renowned business leader, entrepreneur, and media commentator based in Sacramento, California. He is the President of Syphax Strategic Solutions, a management consulting firm specializing in Board governance, strategic planning, and advisory services to CEOs and Boards of Directors of leading national public and private organizations across a range of industries.
Starting in the 1990’s, Syphax led and grew the Nehemiah Corporation of America into one of the largest non-profits in the country, supporting the homeownership of over 325,000 families by providing $1.5 billion in downpayment assistance funding. Today, he serves as the CEO and Chairman of the Nehemiah Community Foundation. Under his leadership, this organization has developed several innovative and signature programs — ‘Neighborhood Restoration Program’ and ‘Roofs for Troops’ — which support local community initiatives focused on education, health and health access, employment, nutrition, and housing – including facilitating a responsible pipeline to homeownership to first-time and low to moderate-income households. The Nehemiah Community Investment Fund has leveraged it’s social innovation capital into over $880 million into triple-bottom-line development projects in marginalized communities across the United States.
Currently, Syphax serves as a Director of the ProAssurance Insurance Corporation (NYSE: PRA) and the Sacramento Regional Community Foundation. He previously served on the boards of the NORCAL Group of Insurance Companies and the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco – a position he held from 2002-2012, making him one of the longest-serving directors in history. Additionally, he held leadership positions as Chairman of the California think-tank Valley Vision and as a Director and former Chairman of the American Leadership Forum, Mountain Valley Chapter. As a founding member of the California Department of Insurance’s Task Force of Supplier and Board Governance Diversity, Syphax was instrumental in promoting diversity in supplier and board governance. He also served as Chairman of the California Department of Managed Care’s Financial Solvency Standards Board and as a member of the Board of the Bay Area Council of San Francisco.
Since 2011, Syphax has hosted and executive produced his Emmy-award-winning show on PBS called Studio Sacramento, broadcasted weekly, he and his guests address various topics that affect the present state of California and our nation.
